How COCP handles website analytics, Planning Pack signups and enquiries.

Updated 8 October 2026. This notice covers optional website analytics and the Planning Pack signup.

Who publishes this site?

Carman Online Content Publishing Ltd (COCP) is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. For privacy enquiries or requests about your information, email hello@cocp.co.uk.

The Planning Pack signup

When you use the form at cocp.co.uk/water-pack, we ask for your first name and email address. We use them to send the confirmation email and The Self-Sufficient Water Handbook Planning Pack, followed by occasional practical emails about water systems, self-sufficiency and relevant COCP books and resources. The signup is optional. Our basis for these emails is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We use MailerLite to process the signup, manage the subscriber list and send these emails. The embedded form loads MailerLite code and sends your form details to MailerLite. MailerLite may also process technical information associated with the form and email delivery. Its new-platform data centre is in the Netherlands. If information is transferred outside the UK, MailerLite's Data Processing Addendum describes its subprocessors and transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum. You can ask us for details using the email address above.

How long we keep it

We keep your subscriber details while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details, we stop marketing emails and remove your information from the active mailing list, subject to any limited record needed to honour your choice or meet legal obligations. You can request deletion by emailing hello@cocp.co.uk.

Your choices and rights

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to withdraw consent or ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information, as applicable. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.

Cookies and your choice

We offer optional Google Analytics cookies to help us understand how visitors use the site. Analytics stays off until you choose Accept analytics. Choosing Reject analytics does not prevent you from browsing, following book links or using the Planning Pack signup. The Analytics choice is separate from consent to our emails.

We store your choice in this browser's local storage under cocp_analytics_consent_v1 for 180 days, so we can honour it across pages. This record contains your choice and its expiry time. It does not contain your name or email address. After it expires, we ask again. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice may not be remembered on the next page.

You can change your choice using Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Rejecting analytics after accepting it disables this site's Analytics collection, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. It does not erase information already collected by Google. You can also clear cookies and site storage through your browser settings.

Optional Google Analytics

When you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and clicks on selected site links. Google receives technical information such as your device and browser, approximate location, referring website and interaction information, together with cookie identifiers used to distinguish visits. We do not send your name, email address or signup form answers to Analytics. Our own page and link events omit URL query strings and fragments.

Our basis for this optional measurement is your consent. Our configuration disables Google signals and advertising personalisation signals and keeps advertising consent denied. The cookies _ga and _ga_CQCWGZYYSR identify visits and maintain session information; we configure their lifetime to 180 days. They are separate from the local record of your privacy choice.

Google processes Analytics information using its infrastructure, which may involve processing outside the UK. See Google's privacy policy and Google's data processing terms for its processing and transfer arrangements. Analytics information is retained according to our Analytics property settings; aggregate reports may be retained for longer. Contact us using the address above if you have a question about information associated with your visit.

Hosting and the signup form

Our hosting provider may process technical request information, including IP addresses and security logs, to deliver and protect this site. The Planning Pack page also loads MailerLite's embedded form code. The analytics buttons control COCP's Google Analytics integration; they do not control the MailerLite form or essential hosting functions. See the Planning Pack section above for MailerLite's role and privacy information.
